Europe: Equities rise at open; London up 0.3%
[LONDON] Europe's major stock market indices advanced at the open on Monday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 gaining 0.3 per cent to 7,446.14 points.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index won 0.4 per cent to 12,783.89 points, and the Paris CAC 40 added almost 0.6 per cent to 5,295.04 compared with the closing level on Friday.
The region's equities had fallen Friday on disappointing economic data heading into the weekend.
In Asia on Monday, energy firms rose as another hike in oil prices chipped away at the hefty losses of last week, but investors are getting tetchy as US President Donald Trump struggles to pass his healthcare bill, raising concerns about his economic agenda.
