Europe: Stock markets climb at open
[LONDON] Europe's main stock markets rose at the open Thursday on company updates and as investors assessed the US Federal Reserve's outlook for the economy.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index gained 0.64 per cent to 6,673.21 points compared with Wednesday's close.
Frankfurt's DAX 30 advanced 0.83 per cent to 11,305.46 points and the CAC 40 in Paris climbed 0.63 per cent to 5,049.24.
Asian stock markets mostly closed higher Thursday, tracking a rally in New York, while the dollar advanced after the Federal Reserve upgraded its outlook on the US economy, traders said.
