Europe: Stock markets largely stable at open
[LONDON] Europe's main stock markets mostly steadied at the start of trading on Wednesday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index down only a couple of points at 7,465.46.
In the eurozone, the Paris CAC 40 index rose fractionally to 5,369.24 points compared with the close on Tuesday.
In Frankfurt, which had been closed for a public holiday on Tuesday, the blue-chip DAX 30 made stronger gains, adding 0.4 per cent to 12,955.89 points as it caught up with its peers.
