Europe: Stock markets recover at open

[LONDON] European stock markets recovered slightly at the start of trading on Monday following a worldwide slump for equities ahead of the weekend break.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index rose 0.2 per cent to 6,934.60 points compared with the close on Friday.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index climbed 0.3 per cent to 11,919.64 points and the Paris CAC 40 won 0.2 per cent to 5,106.34.
