Europe: Stock markets slide at open

[LONDON] European stock markets slid at the start of trading on Thursday with London down 0.8 per cent.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt and Milan each lost 1.2 per cent, Paris dropped 1.3 perc ent and Madrid gave up 1.4 per cent.
