[LONDON] European stock markets slumped at the start of trading on Wednesday after weakness in Asia and on Wall Street triggered by the lingering US-China trade war.
Frankfurt's DAX 30 index shed 1.0 per cent to 11,906.02 points and the Paris CAC 40 slid 1.2 per cent to 5,249.27.
Outside the eurozone, London's FTSE 100 index dropped 0.7 per cent 7,220.98 points compared with Tuesday's closing level.
