Europe: Stocks surge at close

[PARIS] Europe's main stock markets in the eurozone surged at the close on Tuesday with the CAC 40 in Paris climbing 2.09 per cent to 5,117.30 points, while the DAX 30 in Frankfurt soared 2.23 per cent to 11,853.33 points.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index ended the day up 0.38 per cent at 6,995.10 points, with gains tempered by news that British inflation fell into negative territory for the first time since 1960.
