[LONDON] Europe's main stock markets were mixed at the start of trading on Tuesday, with eurozone indices falling and London rising.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index climbed 0.4 per cent to 6,267.3 points, as traders returned to work after a long holiday weekend in Britain. The gain mirrored advances made by eurozone indices on Monday.
Eurozone stock markets meanwhile retreated a day after climbing, with Frankfurt's DAX 30 index losing 0.7 per cent to 10,052.56 points at the open on Tuesday.
The Paris CAC 40 dropped 0.2 per cent in value to 4,435 points.
