European stock markets rally at open
[LONDON] European stock markets posted strong gains at the open on Friday, building on the previous day's surge.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index rose 0.85 per cent to 6,064.32 points compared with Thursday's close.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index jumped 1.3 per cent to 9,454.52 points and the Paris CAC 40 gained 1.2 per cent to 4,297.87.
Asian stock markets rallied also as China's central bank chief said Beijing still has enough monetary firepower to keep the world's second-largest economy on track as G20 ministers gathered in Shanghai.
