Hong Kong, Shanghai: Hong Kong stocks extend rally, Shanghai flat at open

[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks edged up in early trade Wednesday, extending this week's rally after a positive lead from Wall Street, while Shanghai was marginally higher after a more than three per cent gain the day before.
The Hang Seng Index rose 0.40 per cent, or 76.10 points, to 19,198.18 soon after the open.
And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index added 1.80 points to 2,838.37, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, advanced 0.49 per cent, or 8.88 points, to 1,830.59.
