Hong Kong, Shanghai: Shares suffer fresh losses at open

[HONG KONG] Shares fell at the open in Hong Kong and Shanghai Thursday, extending the previous day's losses following another sell-off in New York and Europe.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index slipped 0.79 per cent, or 161.97 points, to 20,363.86.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slipped 0.14 per cent, or 4.25 points, to 2,987.02 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, eased 0.17 per cent, or 3.31 points, to 1,925.32.
