Hong Kong, Shanghai: Stocks climb at open after US jobs data
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong shares rallied in the first few minutes of trade Monday, following a strong lead from Wall Street in response to a bigger-than-expected jump in US job creation.
The Hang Seng Index climbed 1.88 per cent, or 387.00 points, to 20,951.17.
And in Shanghai, the benchmark composite index rose 0.19 per cent, or 5.66 points, to 2,993.75, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, added 0.16 per cent, or 3.26 points, to 2,015.55.
