Hong Kong, Shanghai: Stocks close lower

[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks sank on Monday, with technology firms tumbling in line with sharp losses for the sector in New York at the end of last week.
The Hang Seng Index slipped 1.24 per cent, or 322.25 points, to 25,708.04.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.59 per cent, or 18.52 points, to end at 3,139.88. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, closed down 1.10 per cent, or 20.41 points, at 1,836.76.
