Hong Kong, Shanghai: Stocks close up
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong recorded solid gains Tuesday to maintain a recent rally, while Shanghai closed slightly higher despite data showing China's trade growth in July missed forecasts.
The Hang Seng Index finished up 0.59 per cent, or 164.55 points, at 27,854.91.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.07 per cent, or 2.41 points, to 3,281.87.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, gained 0.37 per cent, or 6.87 points, to 1,879.16.
