Hong Kong, Shanghai: Stocks eke out narrow gains at open
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks opened only slightly higher Tuesday as investors took a breather following a two-day rally fuelled by hopes Britain will vote to stay in the European Union at this week's referendum.
The Hang Seng Index edged up 12.16 points to 20,522.36.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index added 0.33 per cent, or 9.57 points, to 2,898.38 while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, gained 0.58 per cent, or 10.99 points, to 1,920.11.
