[HONG KONG] Hong Kong and Shanghai stocks ended flat Tuesday as early profit-taking was offset by data showing another strong rise in Chinese producer and consumer prices, fuelling hopes for the mainland economy.
The Hang Seng Index barely moved, dipping 7.97 points to close at 23,703.01.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index ended 1.09 points higher at 3,217.93. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, inched down 0.43 points to 1,964.32.
