Hong Kong, Shanghai: Stocks extend gains at open
Hong Kong, Shanghai stocks extend gains at open Hong Kong stocks climbed more than one percent in the first few minutes of trade Monday, adding to the 2.5 per cent rally enjoyed at the end of last week.
The Hang Seng Index jumped 2.47 per cent, or 260.90 points, to 19,341.41.
And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.60 per cent, or 17.52 points, to 2,934.08, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, gained 0.86 per cent, or 15.76 points, to 1,843.10.
