Hong Kong, Shanghai: Stocks open lower
[HONG KONG] Shares in Hong Kong slipped at the open on Monday, following a mixed US jobs report while Shanghai also retreated on the first day of trade after an extended holiday weekend.
Hong Kong's benchmark Hang Seng Index eased 0.75 per cent, or 157.30 points, to 20,683.31.
In mainland China the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index opened down 0.34 per cent, or 10.79 points, at 3,149.38.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, added 0.91 per cent, or 15.20 points, to 1,689.15.
