Hong Kong, Shanghai: Stocks open lower after China data
[HONG KONG] Shanghai and Hong Kong stocks opened lower on Monday after an index of Chinese manufacturing activity fell to its lowest level in three years last month.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index eased 0.24 per cent, or 6.62 points, to 2,730.98, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, lost 0.28 per cent, or 4.71 points, to 1,684.72.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index lost 0.27 per cent, or 54.09 points, to 19,629.02.
