Hong Kong, Shanghai: Stocks up on China inflation data
[HONG KONG] Shares climbed in Hong Kong and Shanghai Friday on figures showing prices paid at China's factory gates had risen for the first time in more than four years.
The Hang Seng Index added 0.88 per cent, or 202.01 points, to close at 23,233.31.
And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.08 per cent, or 2.46 points, to 3,063.81 but the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, slipped 0.13 per cent, or 2.57 points, to 2,046.74.
