Hong Kong: Shares end lower after late sell-off
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong shares ended down on Thursday, with heavy selling in the last hour reversing a surge of more than one percent in the opening exchanges.
The Hang Seng Index shed 0.20 per cent, or 48.42 points, to end at 23,728.07.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index lost 0.52 per cent, or 16.90 points, to close at 3,230.03 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, shed 0.56 per cent, or 11.15 points, to end at 1,997.72.
