Hong Kong shares flat at open, Shanghai retreats

[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks were flat in the first few minutes of trade Monday while Shanghai retreated on profit-taking after surging almost five percent at the end of last week.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong dipped 6.69 points to 21,605.70 in early trading.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.89 per cent, or 28.79 points, to 3,203.56.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, lost 0.75 per cent, or 13.85 points, to 1,832.98.
