Hong Kong: Shares open higher on Tuesday

[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks rose on Tuesday, tracking US markets which scored fresh records for the second straight day, but Shanghai opened flat.

The Hang Seng Index gained 0.91 per cent, or 259.60 points, in the opening minutes of trading, to 28,856.40.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index inched up 0.04 per cent, or 1.30 points, to 3,389.47, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, edged down 0.03 per cent, or 0.55 points, to 1,998.75.
