Hong Kong: Shares post second day of strong gains
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong shares rallied Thursday following a solid lead from Wall Street while traders welcomed Beijing's pledge of support for the stuttering Chinese economy.
The Hang Seng Index climbed 1.75 per cent, or 436.31 points, to 25,416.00, extending Wednesday's 1.60 per cent jump.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.13 per cent, or 3.46 points, to 2,606.24 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange and is heavy with technology shares, added 0.93 per cent, or 12.09 points, to 1,306.31.
