[HONG KONG] Hong Kong shares climbed soon after the open on Wednesday, boosted by another strong Wall Street close and bargain-buying following the previous day's hefty loss.

The Hang Seng Index rose 0.63 per cent, or 152.11 points, at 24,115.74.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index was flat, edging down 0.64 points to 3,252.69, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, was also barely moved, inching 0.15 points lower to 1,980.99.
