Hong Kong: Stocks build on gains at open
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong shares edged up at the start of trade Tuesday, extending the previous day's gains following another record close on Wall Street.
The Hang Seng Index rose 0.32 per cent, or 79.04 points, to 24,656.95.
But the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index retreated 0.45 per cent, or 13.76 points, to 3,064.85 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, lost 0.39 per cent, or 7.25 points, to 1,828.34.
