Hong Kong: Stocks build on gains at open
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks extended the previous day's gains at the open on Wednesday following a healthy lead from Wall Street as they considered tit-for-tat tariffs from China and the US to be lenient.
The Hang Seng Index rose 0.32 per cent, or 85.36 points, to 27,170.02 in early trade.
But the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index eased 0.19 per cent, or 5.15 points, to 2,694.80 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, lost 0.25 per cent, or 3.54 points, to 1,400.61.
