Hong Kong: Stocks close down despite Wall St gains
[HONG KONG] Stocks in Hong Kong closed lower on Thursday as investors brushed off a strong lead from Wall Street and US President Donald Trump's plans to ramp up the US economy by slashing taxes.
The Hang Seng Index fell 0.80 per cent, or 220.83 points, to 27,421.60.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gave up 0.17 per cent, or 5.63 points, to 3,339.64 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, lost 0.23 per cent, or 4.50 points, to 1,974.78. AFP
