Hong Kong: Stocks down 0.10% at open

[HONG KONG] Hong Kong shares edged 0.10 per cent lower in the opening minutes of trade Wednesday as investors cashed in following a surge in the previous session.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index eased 29.17 points to 27,821.32.

But in mainland China the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.56 percent, or 24.05 points, to 4,317.67.

The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, added 1.27 per cent, or 27.54 points, to 2,202.47.
