Hong Kong: Stocks end lower, Shanghai bounces
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks on Wednesday extended the previous day's drop of more than three per cent as a recovery in mainland Chinese markets and bargain-buying failed to offset worries about geopolitical tensions.
The Hang Seng Index slipped 0.38 per cent, or 96.77 points, to 25,249.78.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.33 per cent, or 8.47 points, to 2,603.30 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, fell 0.24 per cent, or 3.07 points, to 1,297.22.
