Hong Kong: Stocks extend gains at open
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks jumped more than one per cent in the first few minutes on Thursday morning following a record close for the Dow on Wall Street.
The Hang Seng Index rallied 1.14 per cent, or 296.65 points to 26,340.29 at the open.
But the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slipped 0.16 per cent, or 5.18 points, to 3,192.36 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, was down 0.09 per cent, or 1.71 points, at 1,887.74.
