Hong Kong: Stocks extend gains at open
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks opened higher on Thursday, tracking a fifth successive record close on Wall Street after Federal Reserve boss Janet Yellen restated her view the US economy is strengthening.
The Hang Seng Index gained 0.59 per cent, or 141.99 points, to 24,136.86.
But the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dipped 0.08 per cent, or 2.63 points, to 3,210.36 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, also was 0.08 per cent, or 1.53 points, down at 1,945.51.
