Hong Kong: Stocks extend gains to fourth day

[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks rose for a fourth straight session on Monday while Shanghai recovered from early losses as investors brushed off initial worries about China's latest moves to crack down on risk-taking.

The Hang Seng Index rose 0.21 per cent, or 61.27 points, to close at 29,260.31.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index climbed 0.28 per cent, or 9.49 points, to 3,392.40. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, rose 0.90 per cent, or 17.63 points, to 1,971.93.
