Hong Kong: Stocks open 0.22% higher

[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks opened 0.22 per cent higher Wednesday after an official gauge of Chinese manufacturing activity rebounded in March.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index added 54.31 points to 24,955.20.

In mainland China the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.38 per cent, or 14.39 points, to 3,762.29.

The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, gained 0.55 per cent, or 10.79 points, to 1,969.19.
