Hong Kong: Stocks open 1.44% higher

[HONG KONG] Shares in Hong Kong rallied in the first few minutes of trade Tuesday, extending the previous day's gains and in line with a global advance on hopes the US will keep interest rates at record lows into next year.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index gained 1.44 per cent, or 314.60 points, to 22,169.10.
Chinese stock markets are closed for a public holiday.
