Hong Kong: Stocks open lower
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks opened lower on Monday as traders returned from an extended weekend to a tepid lead from Wall Street as the corporate earnings season gets under way.
The Hang Seng Index fell 0.28 per cent, or 65.01 points to 23,309.39. The market was closed Friday owing to a typhoon.
And in Shanghai the benchmark composite index was marginally higher, edging up 1.11 points to 3,092.05, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, was also slightly up, adding 0.52 points to 2,053.08.
