Hong Kong: Stocks open lower on Thursday

[HONG KONG] Hong Kong shares opened lower on Thursday, following a retreat on Wall Street as investors grow anxious over the fate of US President Donald Trump's much-touted tax reform plans.

The Hang Seng Index slipped 0.63 per cent, or 178.46 points, to end at 28,124.43.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index inched up 0.02 per cent, or 0.62 points, to 3,397.52 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, edged down 0.08 per cent, or 1.70 points, to 2,023.62.
