Hong Kong: Stocks open sharply higher on Friday
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks got off to a booming start on Friday, tracking a record performance on Wall Street and extending this week's rally on hopes China and the US will eventually resolve their trade dispute.
The Hang Seng Index rose 0.85 per cent, or 234.68 points, to 27,712.35 in early trade.
And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.17 per cent, or 4.63 points, to 2,733.87, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, climbed up 0.22 per cent, or 3.11 points, to 1,423.13.
