Hong Kong: Stocks open slightly higher

[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks opened with small gains Wednesday following another sell-off the day before but investors are cautiously keeping track of developments in the China-US trade war.

The Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong edged up 0.18 per cent, or 49.30 points, to 28,171.32.

And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index added 0.66 per cent, or 19.03 points, to 2,902.64, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, gained 0.86 per cent, or 13.33 points, to 1,555.40.
