[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks rose soon after the open on Monday, building on last week's gains, though the advance was limited by profit-taking and a negative lead from Wall Street.

The Hang Seng Index rose 0.19 per cent, or 56.21 points, to 29,255.25.

But the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.64 per cent, or 21.55 points, to 3,361.36 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, gave up 0.51 per cent, or 10.05 points, to 1,944.25.
