[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks sank more than one per cent in the first few minutes Wednesday, extending the previous day's deep losses, with investors tracking a brewing crisis in the eurozone as EU and Italian leaders clash.
The Hang Seng Index slipped 1.05 per cent, or 286.18 points, to 26,840.20.
Mainland Chinese markets remained closed for a public holiday.
