Hong Kong: Stocks retreat at open
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks started the day lower on Tuesday as investors returned from a long weekend to play catch-up with Asia-wide losses the day before.
The Hang Seng Index dipped 0.72 per cent, or 151.20 points, to 20,915.85 in the first few minutes.
But the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up marginally, adding 2.07 points to 2,940.39, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, slipped 0.02 per cent, or 0.31 points, to 1,873.68.
