Hong Kong: Stocks rise 0.25% at open
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks opened 0.25 per cent higher Friday, extending recent gains on hopes for fresh monetary easing measures by China to support the world's number two economy.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index gained 68.53 points to 27,808.24.
In mainland China the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index jumped 1.53 per cent, or 64.19 points, to 4,259.01.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, gained 0.98 per cent, or 20.77 points, to 2,146.92. AFP
