Hong Kong: Stocks rise as mainland trade resumes
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks rose Monday as US officials in Beijing geared up for key trade talks and mainland Chinese markets reopened after the Lunar New Year week.
The Hang Seng Index gained 0.71 pe rcent, or 197.52 points, to 28,143.84.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index closed 1.36 per cent higher, or 35.67 points, to close at 2,653.90, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, jumped 2.90 pe rcent, or 37.95 points, to 1,347.94.
