Hong Kong: Stocks tumble at open
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks opened sharply lower Wednesday following losses on Wall Street and as investors played catch-up with a global sell-off the day before when the market was closed because of a typhoon in the city.
The Hang Seng Index fell 1.74 per cent, or 385.82 points, to 21743.32.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.27 percent, or 8.07 points, to 2,963.21, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, lost 0.18 per cent, or 3.45 points, to 1,923.24.
