Hong Kong up, Shanghai flat at open

[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks were up while Shanghai was flat at the open Friday, following a day of gains.

The Hang Seng Index gained 0.52 per cent, or 116.75 points, to 22,573.44 soon after opening.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index inched down 0.05 per cent, or 1.63 points, to 3,163.78.

The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, shed 0.11 per cent, or 2.22 points, to 2,003.36.
