Hot stock: Spackman shares gain 8.1% in early trading
SHARES of Spackman Entertainment Group rose 8.1 per cent or 0.7 cent to S$0.093 as at 10.03am on Monday, with more than 28 million shares changing hands.
The listed counter jumped following its announcement before trading began on Monday that Alibaba Pictures Group has purchased the rights to distribute Spackman's film "Life Risking Romance" in movie theatres and on online platforms in China. The film has been presented and co-produced by Spackman's subsidiary Novus Mediacorp Co.
"Life Risking Romance" is a romance thriller starring Ha Ji-won, Chun Jung-myung and Chen Bolin. The film is set to be released in South Korea in the fourth quarter of 2016.
Co-produced by Novus Mediacorp and BA Entertainment Co, the movie is directed by Song Min-Kyu, producer of the 2011 war film "My Way".
