SHARES of The Hour Glass (THG) surged by 8.844 per cent to S$0.80 at 9.40am on Monday, after opening at S$0.76 on Monday morning.
Its previous closing price was S$0.735.
Some 523,300 shares changed hands.
THG had in October last year paid S$13.3 million in cash for the 50-year-old watch retail chain Watches of Switzerland (WOS) from Jay Gee Melwani, a Singapore-based fashion-and-lifestyle group. The move will boost THG's boutiques to 37 across the Asia-Pacific, including those in Japan and Australia.
