Malaysia: Shares close lower on Wednesday

MALAYSIAN share prices closed lower on Wednesday, with the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Kuala Lumpur Composite Index down 5.61 points at 1,709.75 points.

Volume was 1.85 billion lots worth RM2.21 billion.

Gainers outnumbered losers 439 to 356.
