Shanghai, Hong Kong: Stocks down ahead of China data

[HONG KONG] Shanghai and Hong Kong stocks retreated in the first few minutes of trade Tuesday ahead of the release of Chinese trade data later in the day.
Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index dipped 0.14 per cent, or 27.62 points, to 20,132.10.
And in Shanghai the composite index edged down 0.06 per cent, or 1.67 points, to 2,895.67, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, eased 0.17 per cent, or 2.93 points, to 1,738.72.
